Regardless of religion or belief, stories of archangels are part of our heritage all around the world. They are considered to be very powerful beings, not to be worshiped, but here to help mankind. Not many are aware that there are seven archangels. Today, we will discuss the main four.
Archangel Michael
Archangel Michael is one of the most powerful. He is a fighter, a protector of lost souls stuck between the after life and their next destination. Michael is know to protect lost souls and help guide them to their next journey. His name means ‘he who is as God’. He is considered a leader of the angelic realm and a patron angel of righteousness, mercy, and justice. He assists in situations when you are afraid, helping you rid of fear and doubt. He assists with courage, direction, energy healing/clearing, and vitality, spirit releasement, and self esteem (will power the Solar Chakra).
He is often depicted carrying a flaming sword. His power is fire for the will power within. He is also known for the color green claiming unconditional love for mankind, the heart chakra.
Archangel Uriel
Archangel Uriel, whose name means ‘God is my light’, is known as the angel of wisdom who shines the light of God’s truth into the darkness of confusion. Think of him as lighting your path. He is depicted carrying a lantern symbolizing the Light of God. The faithful often turn to Uriel seeking God’s will before making decisions, learning new information, and resolving conflicts.
Archangel Uriel is also in control of the weather. He warns Noah of the flood and suggests he build an ark! Uriel’s colors are purple and white for the third eye and crown chakra.
Archangel Raphael
Archangel Raphael, whose name means ‘God heals’, is designated for emotional and physical healing. He not only helps heal, but helps healers in their healing practice such as doctors. He can help reduce addiction, cravings, and bodily injuries. He is a conjunction of Archangel Michael because he helps travelers and protects them on their journeys. He helps clear fear which affects stress and health.
Archangel Raphael is often depicted carrying a staff. His color is known as red for the root chakra and grounding.
Archangel Gabriel
Archangel Gabriel, whose name means ‘God is my strength’, is one of the two archangels named in the old and new testament of the Bible. He is often portrayed holding a trumpet and is a patron of communication. Archangel Gabriel acts as the messenger of God. He assists writers, teachers, journalists, and artists convey messages from above, find motivation and confidence, and to market their skills. Gabriel is known for helping through childbearing, conception, and pregnancy. Some say he picks souls from the tree of life and places them in a woman’s womb. Gabriel’s chakra is the throat for communication.
